Terms of Service

By using global-prospecting.com you agree to these terms.

1. Accounts

You must be 18 or older and give accurate information. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can sign in with email and password or with Google. We may restrict bidding or close an account that breaks these terms, fails to pay, or misuses the site. You can ask us to close your account through the Contact page at any time.

2. Items

We describe and photograph each item as accurately as we can. Opals are natural, so colour can look different on different screens. Rough opal may contain natural cracks or inclusions — see our Return Policy.

3. Buy It Now

Prices are in US dollars. An item is yours only once payment is complete; items in a cart are not reserved. Sale coupons apply to Buy It Now items only — auctions are excluded — and one code can be used per order.

4. Auctions

  • Every bid is a binding commitment to buy if you win.
  • Some auctions have a private reserve price; if it is not met, there is no winner.
  • Bids placed near the end can extend the auction.
  • Winners must pay within 7 days after the auction ends. Unpaid wins can be cancelled and relisted, and bidding privileges can be removed.
  • Bids can be cancelled only at our discretion.

5. Best Offers

  • An offer is a binding commitment to buy at that price if we accept it.
  • You can hold one open offer on a listing at a time, and up to ten new offers an hour. Your offer must be below the asking price — at the asking price, use Add to cart.
  • We may accept, decline or counter any offer. There is a limit of three counteroffers per negotiation.
  • If we accept, payment is due at once at the agreed price.
  • Acceptance does not reserve the item. Until your payment is complete, the same item can be bought by another customer or withdrawn from sale. If it is no longer available when you go to pay, your accepted offer is released and nothing is charged.
  • An accepted but unpaid offer can be cancelled by either side, which puts the item back on normal sale. Paid offers follow the normal refund process.

6. Live Sales

Live Sales follow the same auction and payment rules, including 7 days to pay for wins. Chat must be respectful; we may remove messages or restrict chat.

Giveaways. Open to eligible entrants with a US shipping address. No purchase necessary. Prizes ship to the US address saved on your account when you enter. International shopping and shipping for approved buyers are not affected.

7. Payment

Payments are made through PayPal, including card payments taken through PayPal's own card form. We do not store card numbers.

8. Shipping

Within the United States. We charge shipping once per order, at the highest single rate that applies to the items in it — the store rate shown at checkout for opals and uncategorized items, or a merchandise listing's own shipping price where one is set. There are no per-item or additional-item charges. An order costs nothing to ship if every item in it is free-shipping, if a storewide free-shipping promotion is running, or if we waive the charge.

Combining shipments. If you already have an order that is paid, has not shipped yet, and paid a shipping charge, then a new order going to the exact same US address — the same street, city, state and ZIP code — ships in the same package with no additional shipping charge. This applies while that first package is still unshipped, and to US addresses only.

International. International shipping is available to approved buyers at a shipping charge we set for the individual order, based on the items and the destination. See our Shipping page for details, including signature requirements.

9. Returns

10. Website content

Photos, videos and text on the site belong to Global Prospecting and may not be copied without permission.

11. Liability

The site is provided as is. To the extent allowed by law, our liability for any purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, and any dispute about them will be handled in the courts of Florida.

13. Changes

We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version.
